Personalities
I confess I am a bit of a sucker for personality quizzes (Gryffindor btw) and thought it would be a fun idea to analyze which personalities major characters from my books might have. This is by no means definitive, and if you have a different opinion, let me know! Be forewarned, spoilers follow 🙂
Temriel au Rath – Commander (ENTJ)
Temriel reads as a Commander (ENTJ): decisive, strategic, and directive. He is Extraverted because he leads from the front, sets tempo in council and field, and uses visibility to align nobles, soldiers, and messengers. He is Intuitive in how he frames problems as systems: titan sign links to border security, food supply, and diplomacy; he scans several moves ahead and treats peace as posture, not accident. He is Thinking driven, preferring competence and facts over sentiment, correcting rumours bluntly, challenging weak arguments, and weighing costs without flinching. He is Judging because he imposes structure, deadlines, and process under pressure, turns intent into plans, and insists on accountability. Across scenes he prioritizes outcomes over theatre, trades comfort for leverage, and delegates while keeping strategic control. The pattern is consistent: define the objective, map constraints, choose the highest-yield path, execute, iterate. That is classic ENTJ leadership: authority, long-horizon reasoning, decisions, and results.
Bogan au Arcos – Protagonist (ENFJ)
Bogan au Arcos fits the Protagonist (ENFJ) profile: charismatic, purpose driven, people focused. He frames conquest as protection, offering Valentium life if the leaders yield, presenting strength as stewardship. He builds coalitions and assigns roles to strengths, handpicking competent captains and a builder, then gives them a shared mission that can outlive any one man. In crisis he risks himself to save others, scaling a titan to free a Temriel, turning a rival into an ally through courage and empathy. Outcomes matter to him, but the story he tells his people is deeply loyal, communal, and hopeful. All together, he is a classic protagonist.
Helena au Arcos – Defender (ISFJ)
Helena reads as a Defender (ISFJ): practical, protective, and quietly duty bound. She arrives with a service mindset, accepting her father’s request “for the peace of the Empire,” and immediately watches over Jaethe’s honor, bristling when delegates disrespect Tem and the nation. She prefers steady, behind the scenes help to grandstanding: in Tem’s office she spots a misentry, explains it without fuss, and reveals she trained in bookkeeping, a detail oriented, caretaker profession. Her conscience is strong and personal; after Her and Tem’s tense debut she initiates a thoughtful apology and restores harmony. In sum, Helena safeguards people and institutions through competence and care.
